Ecuador Day 1
Good morning! Emily and I have safely arrived in Ecuador and have had a good nights sleep! We are up and enjoying some bitter but yummy coffee. Our host mom Lucita has gone to work, so we will be exploring on our own today. A new pair of shoes are in order since i brought only flipflops and the weather is not accomodating! Oh darn....a shopping trip?! ;)
Skyped with the kids this morning and they're doing great! I am feeling much better as well after a good nights sleep! Going to unpack and get moving...we've got places to go and people to see.
Adios amigas!

To dream the impossible dream
ReplyDeleteTo fight the unbeatable foe
To bear with unbearable sorrow
To run where the brave dare not go
To right the unrightable wrong
To be better far than you are
To try when your arms are too weary
To reach the unreachable star
Shannon I can't find the right words to tell you how proud I am. I can't imagine how you were able to accomplish your goal to become a teacher. My mind is overwhelmed with your accomplishment while taking care of a home, two young children and a husband. Then if that were not enough; you managed to excel with outstanding grades, honorable mention, and your desire to become not just a teacher, but a great teacher. A teacher teaching; not just for salary but a teacher who will put your students first and instill the desire to learn and accomplish their goals also. A teacher whose students will benefit from your desire to instill a sense of pride during their learning to become the best they are capable of becoming. When you were just a baby your mother and I were inspired by a song Richard Kiley sang in a play entitled "The impossible Dream" To dream the impossible dream
To fight the unbeatable foe
To bear with unbearable sorrow
To run where the brave dare not go
To right the unrightable wrong
To be better far than you are
To try when your arms are too weary
To reach the unreachable star
In my book you are on your way to reach "The Unreachable Star" Thank you for being my daughter. I love you.
